This section is set aside for updates on "Operation: LIfe Size Jabba", a project currently underway to build a full size Hutt puppet.  If you have any questions about convention appearances or photo sessions, feel free to send an email!

   The first update!  Okay, so here's the latest...   The head is on it's way from Singapore and should arrive next week.  It's cast in a light weight resin, so it will be easy to lug around.  In order to meet our DragonCon (Labor Day weekend) deadline, his face won't be very animated.  But after the convention, his head will be replicated in foam rubber so that his mouth opens.  I'd also like to talk to Spat and perhaps commission him to articulate the eyes.  For those who don't know, Spat actually DID a miniature Jabba for his fan film, Jedi House.  It was a fantastic little puppet, with opening and closing eyes.  Hopefully we can do the same with this baby!

    My bikini building friend and partner, Tomak, is creating the rest of the body.  It will be made out of a thick rubbery skin filled with air packets.  He recently brought over a sample of Jabba's "skin", and it was absolutely perfect; just the right texture, feel and color!  As soon as I had it in my hands, I was sold on the project.  Tomak is making it a priority that this Hutt is gonna be durable, and not a delicate prop that you have to be gentle with.  "A girl will be able to sit on his tail and bounce up and down" were his exact words.      :-)

  Right now DragonCon staff are trying to help me find a suitable place to plop the beast down.  It's gonna be a lot bigger than a fan table, of course!  But they are being really nice and hopefully we'll find a home for the "Bloated One" for not just the photo shoot, but the whole convention weekend.

    So there's the latest and greatest!  Make sure all your girlfriends and wives know that the "Big Guy" is gonna be at Dcon.  Start
building those metal bikinis, or save up to buy one.  Because if there was ever an excuse to dress as a slave girl, it will be Labor Day weekend in Atlanta!

   The first flier promoting Jabba's upcoming visit to DragonCon is finished.  Click here to view it, and be sure to send it out to anyone who might be interested!

Also, we really need a Salacious Crumb for the display.  If you're going to the convention and you have one of those puppets,
let me know!

   A much needed update on Jabba!  Here's the latest, greatest and not so greatest.  I got the life size head of the Hutt in the mail last week.  It was made by 3D Wiz Art, who specializes in over the top, larger than life creations from many of our favorite movies.  Anyway, it's HUGE!  I could barely fit it into my car!  It also has a fantastic paint job, too.  So naturally, I'm very pleased with it.  But after rewatching ROTJ again, I've realize that's it's still too small!  LOL   In the film, each of Jabba's eyes are about the same size as Carrie Fisher's head.  So we'll be using what we have for DragonCon, and then build a larger version after that weekend.  I do plan on have the gargoyles, that appear on the sides of Jabba's throne, done by 3D Wiz Art, however.  They do great work, and are a valuble resource when trying to tackle an otherwise impossible project.

The shoot for DragonCon is still scheduled for 2pm, Saturday.  The location STILL hasn't been decided, and I know we are getting really close to the deadline for one.  As soon as I find out, I will spread the word!
