| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I am 25 years old, a PR writer, living in Manila. I was an anime and sci-fi fan since childhood. I've been cosplaying (or costuming) since 2002. My costume gallery can be found here. I didn't make all my costumes, except the ones I feel passionate about. I made the bikini costume with my own hands. :-) 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? Experiences? I usually wear revealing costumes, and it can be very uncomfortable. Wearing something skimpy is harder than people realize because I have to make sure that my costume won't come off easily! I have to constantly check that everything is in it's place. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I think I was about 6 years old. I saw it on Betamax (remember those?). 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? This is my first metal bikini. Star Wars Philippines members were looking for somebody to go in costume as Slave Leia, and when they suggested it, I was happy to oblige. :-) 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? Whenever I'd pose for photos with guys, I swear I could hear brain cells fry whenever I'd ask them to "yank my chain"! 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? Probably Britney Spears' "Slave 4 You". But I would rather do it for Han Solo, for understandable reasons. 7) Any final words? This website has been an invaluable resource for reference photos. Thanks Jamin! To future metal bikini slaves, don't be intimidated by the costume. It took a lot of trial and error on my part. The allure of the bikini lives on! Thanks Cathy! |
