| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. My name is Crystal Swarovski, I am a singer/songwriter and a burlesque performer. I also love to sew and make costumes. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? Along with my Leia costume, I have designed an Alice in Wonderland costume, cheerleader costumes, and some couture gowns. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I grew up with Star Wars. I had the VHS as a kid, and went to the openings of all the re-releases in costume. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I do an annual sci-fi burlesque night and knew the night wouldn't be complete without a metal bikini, so I had to make one. I must say it took a long time to make, but it was so worth it. I was actually very inspired by the LeiasMetalBikini.com website and all the pictures while I was designing my own. 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I appeared in an indie film with the costume and I have toured my way up to Vancouver, Canada and over to New York City performing in the costume. My favorite memory is my striptease as Leia, when I finally remove the bottom of the bikini, I reveal a smiling Yoda, which I have attached to my undies. :-) 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? If I were to dance for Jabba the Hutt, I would use the song "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog", because that would keep him happy eating yummy frogs. Or maybe I would write a song about how sexy Han Solo is, just to piss him off a little. 7) Any final words? Good luck to anyone thinking about making a costume. If you want any advice on the making of the bikini, if you like what I did, or if you want me to make you one, feel free to write me at ticklestlc@yahoo.com. Thanks Crystal! |
