| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. Well, I'm currently a full time Computer Graphics student studying 3D Animation, full time Junior Service Technician and first-time NPC competitor (competition on November 19, 2006). My hobbies include, but are not limited to: candy making, arts and crafts of various types (especially painting plastercrafts and models), airbrush horror makeup, video games, hiking, anything outdoorsy and just about anything to do with 3D or art. :-) As far as my background, I'll just say I'm 100% Portuguese-decent, gemini, live in MA and I'm 4'11 1/2"! 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? Not long, was going to try this year, but never got around to it and never got the chance so I had to buy one. :-) And I have NO experience in costuming.... just make up! 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I believe it was watching it on TV when they used to show the whole trilogy on television. I believe it may have been around some holiday, just unsure of which. But I've always been a Star Wars fan, especially of Darth Vader. My mother still has a shoe box from Stride Rite when I owned a pair of reflective velcro Vader sneakers.... I even remember owning a pair of Vader snow boots probably around the age of 5 or 6! 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I got it in September and what drove me to getting it was the fact that I felt I didn't have the time nor the talent to reproduce one of my own! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? So far that would be this year and I'd have to say when a Stormtrooper tapped me on the shoulder at a Halloween party. 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl", because it's one of my favorite songs. 7) Any final words? Have loads of fun with the costume and I can only say that you should try it at least once in your life! Wish me luck on the competition! Thanks Denise! |
