1)  Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background.

I am currently working as a graphic and web designer, I have a full time job and do freelance on the side.  I have always been creative and good at drawing, and Halloween was always my favorite holiday...   and still is today!  I enjoy collecting Star Wars, LOTR, Batman (especially Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy) figures.  I collect Star Wars comic books, mostly the "Clone Wars" ones.  And I collect "Art Of" books from movies that I really like, my most recent one is from the Corpse Bride.  I am very much a geek to the core.

2)  How long have you been costuming?  What kinds of experiences have you had?

I have been costuming since 2001, when I made my first costume myself...  Princess Kida from Disney's Atlantis...  the next year I made my first Star Wars costume...  Shaak Ti.  From then I have made Arwen, and have had lots of help making Harley Quinn, Fleur Delacour, Asajj Ventress, TIE Fighter Pilot, Barriss Offee (these last two are in the works) and of course, Slave Leia.

    I am part of the
Fanforce, Rebel Legion and the 501st Legion.  I have had many positive costume experiences, I have only had two experiences in the Slave Leia costume, and both were really fun...   and interesting.

3)  What's your earliest memory of seeing
Return of the Jedi?

When I was 16, my friend and I went on a snowboard trip and he brought his SW Trilogy...  I was amazed at the metal bikini right away.  And I really liked all the movies...  not until 2002 when I made my Shaak Ti costume is when I really got into the Star Wars mania.

4)  When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it?

I just got the bikini finished, with the help of my friend Liann from my local Fanforce in Edmonton, Alberta.  What drove me to get the bikini was that I wanted a well known costume that people would recognize me in.  Rather than hearing the "who are you supposed to be?"  Though, I do love wearing all my costumes anyway.

5)  What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia?

Probably at the Edmonton Toy Show, and at West Edmonton Mall.  I got lots of pictures taken and lots of people had "interesting" questions for me.  These are the only experiences so far that I have worn the bikini to.

6)  If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why?

"Dance Dance" by Fallout Boy, 'cause it's me and my boyfriend's song...  and he is building a Boba Fett costume...  so when I dance it would be cool if Boba Fett danced with me...  hehe.

7)  Any final words?

After wearing this costume, I realized I had more confidence than I thought.  Just seeing how much skin this costume shows, and seeing how I held myself in pictures...  I was amazed!  I really give props to all the girls that wear the "famous bikini".  It takes a lot of guts.  But it makes you feel amazing and powerful.

Thanks Erin!
