| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I'm a burlesque dancer hailing from NYC, but dancing and striptease aren't the only things on the top of my list. I enjoy traveling, cooking, yoga, spending quality time with my loved ones and I especially love a great cocktail party! 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? I've been IN costumes ever since I got into dance at the age of 4. However, when I got into burlesque two years ago, I started to actually make them myself for my acts. I keep promising myself I'll learn how to use a sewing machine, but glue guns can work a lot of magic, too. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I was just a wee girl when ROTJ released, so my memories are spotty. But I did date my share of nerds in my adolescent and teen years to see the movie plenty of times. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I got my first metal bikini after deciding I wanted to do a Princess Leia burlesque act for a Halloween themed show in October 2005. I'm proud to call it my signature number! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? There are so many to think back on, but my most recent appearance has to be a favorite for sure. I just finished producing the Brooklyn Burlesque Blitz (a two day burlesque event) with five of the best burly-q producers a girl could know where I was able to perform my Leia act. Even though putting on the show had it's stressful moments, I know I can count on having tons of fun when I perform that number. 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? The Disco Remix of the Star Wars Theme song! 7) Any final words? Though my website, www.gigilafemme.com, is in dire need of some updating, you can find my calendar on MySpace at www.myspace.com/gigilafemme and you can see a clip of my Leia act here! Metal bikini girls forever! Thanks Gigi! |
