1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background.
My name is Bob and my wife is Janel. We have been married for two years now and we enjoy everything from camping, boating, movies, you name it.
2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had?
I have been doing costumes for about three years. I was working on a few versions of Boba Fett when I saw some people doing the slave costume. I wanted to work on it myself, but ran out of time and saw Darcienne's version and thought it was so great.
3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi?
I remember seeing Jedi when I was about 11 and coming home and reenacting it in the neighbor's yard all afternoon. Janel says she didn't see it when it was first out.
4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it?
I had put together such a good Fett costume that I wanted a great costume for Janel. She was a bit concerned about the revealing nature of the costume but, when we went out, she really liked it.
5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia?
We went out for Halloween 2004 and had a great time. We are from Pittsburgh and ended up at a party in town. It turned out there was a huge party at the same place for Carnegie Mellon University students. All of the guys there were floored by our costumes. Several wanted pictures with Janel in her costume. Our friends teased us because, to all the "nerds" there, we were considered gods, they said!
6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why?
As far as dancing goes, anything with a good beat.
7) Any final words?
If you don't have time to do the costume yourself and want a quality costume (you will pay for it, but it is definitely worth it), talk to Darcienne. Her costume is the best as far as detail and accuracy goes in our opinion.
