| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I'm just a white girl from Tampa with a penchant for Star Wars/Trek/Gate and avid gamer, especially the interactive variety (DDR, Guitar Hero, etc.). I have a Bachelors in Nursing and a Masters in Management of Information Systems under my belt (I'm in the field of clinical informatics). I also love animals (I have 2 cats) and volunteer as much as I can at the local Humane Society and with rescue groups. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? Um, I don't consider myself a serious costumer or anything, though I am a huge fan of Halloween and all the candy that goes along with it. :-) I've been wearing Counselor Deanna Troi costumes since I was a wee lassie, but my first Star Wars was Ceremonial Leia, like 5 years ago at DragonCon. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I was 3 when it came out, so I have no idea.... pre-teens at a buddy's house probably? I do remember when we all skipped our senior class pictures to watch it when it was re-released in the theaters and played Magic while waiting in line. Good times.... 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I just got it a few months back. I didn't really want to do it because of how revealing it is, but I realized my beach bikini shows more skin than this thing! Then I saw this hoopla on LeiasMetalBikini.com regarding the Hutt project and decided I'm totally doing it, fo' shizzle! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I haven't made an appearance.... yet. ;-) 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? "Canned Heat" - Jamiroquai. Hey guys! We should organize some Napoleon/Slave Leia dance at DragonCon, 'that would be... amazing.' *in Napoleon's voice* 7) Any final words? Cons are soooo much fun! Everyone should try it at least once. It's great to travel and go to another planet for a weekend with a bunch of other people that understand what it's about: no wars, no violence, no politics - just a bunch of geeks sharing laughs, going to panels, marching in parades, and messing up a few kegs. :-) You haven't seen anything till you've seen a Stormtrooper in a Hawaiian shirt going down the street on a skateboard in downtown Atlanta. Thanks Jennie! |
