| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I'm from a small town in Minnesota. I grew up and still work at my family's sod farm (I'm really close with my family). In my spare time I enjoy tons of outdoor activities. Things I enjoy the most are waterskiing and downhill skiing (I do both competitively), drag racing, scuba diving, tennis, biking, volleyball, canoe trips, reading Star Wars books & hanging out with my friends and family. I'm also an adrenaline junkie... I love extreme sports (bungee jumping, skydiving, parasiling, extreme skiing). My other love is traveling the world. I have lots of time off in the winter to travel to new places. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? I just completed my first costume last year! I'm a huge Star Wars geek & member of The Minnesota Force (a really cool local Star Wars fan club). The Minnesota Force got me involved in costuming for local events. My other costumes are a Jedi Knight & Padme's white battle outfit (from Attack of the Clones). Costuming has been a great experience for me! When I completed my Jedi outfit, I got involved with The Jedi Assembly.... an AWESOME international club of all Jedi costumers. My friends there encouraged me to go to DragonCon last year.... and I had the time of my life!!! I also got the "costuming bug" at DragonCon after seeing all of the awesome costumes there! 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I was around 12 when it came out and I couldn't wait! I collected all of the books, magazines and trading cards I could! I was really sad when it was over since it seemed to be the end.... no more movies. :-( 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? This is it! Seeing the Jabba and some awesome Slave Leia costumes last year at DragonCon really got me interested in doing the costume. The other plus is it's a Star Wars costume that everyone recognizes.... when I wear my Padme costume, I always get called "Princess Leia".... ugh! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I don't have any yet.... but I'm sure the CIV Group Photo will be one! 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I'd go old school Nancy Sinatra "These Boots Are Made For Walkin" because as the song says "one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you".... or your dead corpse!! 7) Any final words? I'd like to thank Carey Hawkins (Obscenities) for the GREAT craftsmanship she put into making my bikini. I'd like to thank my friend Kris Nelson for all of the hard work she put into making the fabric skirt and the fabric top (which I know was really time consuming!). I'd also like to thank YOU Jamin for having this awesome website to help us girls get our bikinis together.... the Slave Leia Revolution continues on! :-D Thanks Jenny! |
