| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I have been costuming for over 10 years now. My main point of interest is period costumes. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? See above. I mostly do Renaissance dresses and have volunteered at my college costume shop for a short period. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? Several years ago on Christmas they played every original Star Wars. I had seen The Empire Strikes Back, and the last part of Return of the Jedi, but I was really shocked when I saw the first few scenes that Christmas.... shocked in a good way.... or more amazed. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I just now made mine this past October (2006). It really is a costuming feet! I wanted to take it on for that very reason. I have wanted the metal bikini ever since I saw it (when I was a child I never dreamed I'd actually make one one day). In 2004 I got curious about making it, and tried to fool around with materials, but nothing came of it. Then this past Halloween when I saw all the costuming contests offered around town, I knew that was like holding the "full house" of costuming. 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? It really fed my ego. I debuted it at a downtown club for Halloween 2006. I was asked by several people to pose in pictures with them: girls, guys, gay, straight, it didn't matter. They all wanted to be seen with me. As vain as that sounds, I really did enjoy the attention it gave me! 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I really don't dance.... to any music. 7) Any final words? What shall I do to top myself next year? Thanks Karen! |
