| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I'm Leonie Ouwerkerk, 19 years old, from the Netherlands and my hobby's are reading (Star Wars books), playing computer games and going to Star Wars conventions. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? I've been costuming for about 5 or 6 years now, my first costume was a normal Episode 1-like Jedi. After that I started on an Amidala Episode 1 Celebration Dress, and after that I wanted to make just about all the costumes from all the movies. :-) My collection includes teh Padme' Corset Dress, Zam Wesell, Barris Offee and hopefully soon the Padme' Lake Dress and Battle Outfit, and of course the latest addition: the Slave Leia costume. :-) 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I think I saw it when I was about 9 years old. My parents had it on a very old tape, and I remember I loved the Jabba's Palace scenes the best, with the rancor and, of course, the Bikini. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? Well, I just got my first Bikini, and I just loved the way it looked. It just looks beautiful and, since I was going to C3, I just wanted something special to wear. 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? Probably the only one I did so far: going to C3 and doing the big photoshoot. It was so great, people just didn't stop taking pictures! 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I probably wouldn't dance for Jabba, that ugly fat worm, I'd probably do the same thing Leia did: kill him with her chain. :-) 7) Any final words? I just wanted to say I had a blast wearing the costume for C3! Thanks Leonie! |
