1)  Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background.

I'm not really good at talking about myself, but here goes:  For three seasons I've been the co-host of Ed's Night Party! which airs on CityTV in Canada and G4 (intermittently and on a VoD service called RipeTV in the U.S.).  I was born in Toronto, lived in Tenessee and Ohio when I was young, then my parents moved my sister and I back up here.

I'm, well, a geek.  I've been into video games since I was three, read Lord of the Rings for the first time when I was in grade three, and discovered Dungeons & Dragons in the fifth grade.  My favorite fantasy author is Terry Brooks.  I think he wrote the novelization of Episode 1, too.  I'm really into comics and am writing my own book.  Hopefully that will be out soon.  I contribute to the show's comic book as well.  It's called Ed and Red's Comic Strip.

I'm very passionate about music as well.  The list of acts that I like is hugely long (a partial list is on
my MySpace profle --  see what I mean?

2)  How long have you been costuming?  What kinds of experiences have you had?

My first hard core costume was the Batman Returns version of Catwoman.  I made that costume when I was sixteen.  I've always loved Halloween and got back into costuming when I made a Poison Ivy costume for Halloween in 2001.  Since then I've kept adding to my list of costumes.  Most of them are comic book characters, but I'm starting to branch into other fandoms as well.  A lot of the stuff is done for the show.  It's a really good excuse to dress up!

My experiences have been very positive.  I've met a lot of my favorite comic book artists because of the costumes, and a few of them have become friends.  The people at conventions are generally really nice and the suit is a really good conversation starter.  I've recently started working with a company called Universal Designs to take things up a notch or five, so I'm excited about the stuff we're working on now!

3)  What's your earliest memory of seeing
Return of the Jedi?

I was six when the movie came out.  I have a thing for aliens and robots, so Yoda and R2 were the coolest things ever as far as I was concerned.  And I'll admit it:  I loved the Ewoks.  Still do.  They were designed for six year olds!  Beecha wawa, lurdos!  Luke Skywalker was definately my favorite human character.  I really love the journey he takes through the films and how he develops.

4)  When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it?

This is my first metal bikini.  It was made in honour of appearing at Toronto Trek 20.  It was the con's twentieth anniversary, so I wore a classic Star Trek dress during the opening ceremonies, but I'm a Star Wars girl at heart, and I'd had a lot of requests to do Slave Leia, so I finally caved.  I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off.  Both the hair clip and collar broke pretty quickly -- the stuff they were made out of was too flimsy for the wear and tear of conventions.

5)  What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia?

There are so many great ones.  I think doing a panel in the costume stands out.  I don't know if anyone cared what I was saying!

6)  If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why?

Leia would never dance for Jabba.  If I ever did an Oola costume though, Tori Amos's "Sweet the Sting" might make me less worried about slipping on the slime.  Maybe Sons and Daughters' "Rama Lama"  would get a bit of a hint across.

7)  Any final words?

    Check out the
show, my MySpace, EdTheSock.com, live, love, sing and dance!

Thanks Liana!
