| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I'm 27 and I spend most of my free time either playing music or playing video games. I'm an enormous sci-fi addict - my sister and I grew up on Star Wars and J.R.R. Tolkien and The Last Starfighter - I come from a clan of fabulous nerds! 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? This is actually the first year that I've gotten serious about creating costumes. The funniest one to date was a female Clockwork Orange droog costume I put together. I fought with false eyelashes for two hours and couldn't get them to stick, so I tried to draw them on with eyeliner. Nobody had a clue who I was all night, but the general consensus was "Charlie Chaplin". 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? Four years old, hiding under a blanket with my sister and being terrified while the Emperor zaps Luke with the Dark Side. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? This is my first metal bikini! I've wanted to do this costume for six years now and this year when I told my boyfriend about it, he volunteered to help. He spent 15 hours bending copper wire with pliers to make the top. All hail Josh! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I went out twice for Halloween this year as Slave Leia and both times were absolutely awesome! I was amazed at how many people came up and told me how much they loved the costume. Having random guys come up and tell you that you've been their fantasy since fifth grade? Definately an ego booster being Slave Leia! Just watch out for the thousands of guys who take your hands and look deeply into your eyes and say, "You belong here among the clouds." Hey girls, remember that Lando was a double-crosser at first? Don't fall for it! LOL 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I would have to dance to "Breathe" by The Prodigy - definately want the dastardly Hutt to know that he's met his match! 7) Any final words? Thank you for such an awesome site! We love you! Thanks Marianne! |
