| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. Let's see.... Belly dancing Star Wars Freak sums it up pretty well. In real life, I'm a property manager in Houston, TX. In my world, I spend free time studying belly dancing at the Chanson de Vie studio and doing other things like shopping, reading and costuming.... 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? My first non-Halloween costume was Depa Billaba for C2. Since then I've made over 10 more - Star Wars, X-men, Superheroes, etc. It's so much fun having your picture taken with random fans. It's nice to have your hard work appreciated. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I was 7 and went with my sister, cousins, aunt & uncle. My favorite part was the Ewok stealing the speeder bike. I just thought that was the funniest. It's still my favorite movie. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I bought my bikini before Comic Con 2006, but didn't wear it until C4. My friend had one at C3 and it's her fault I have one now! 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? All the attention! Not being able to walk two feet without someone wanting a picture. It was great, I can't wait to wear it again! 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? "Fett's Vett" by MC Chris. My friends and I have choreographed a belly dance routine for Jabba's slave girls - Leia, Oola & Lyn Me. 7) Any final words? Put on the bikini!!! It's incredibly liberating and so much fun! And remember: The Force will be with you.... always. :-) Thanks Shannon! |
