| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I've been a nurse for 15 years, my specialty is Pediatric Intensive care. My hobbies are reading, yoga, crochet, and hanging out with my friends at cons. I'm also a semi-professional flirt. ;-) 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? I've been going to cons for about three years now, and mostly my costumes to date have been things put together from thrift stores. I've been inspired though, from the cons and have just put my first sewing machine on layaway, and am picking out patterns that I want to try - namely a 1920's flapper dress and a toga style dress. I have an idea for Isis, my favorite show as a kid. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? What's that? Seriously, at the risk of being stoned to death, I can't recall the details of the first time I saw it. I've seen it many times over the years, though. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I just got my bikini this summer and the "First Ever DragonCon Slave Leia Photo Shoot" was it's first appearance in public. I had the opportunity recently to borrow a friend's, and once my boyfriend saw it, there was no question that I would get one. 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? The photo shoot was so much fun, people were so responsive, and had so much fun having their picture taken with us. And, being with a group took away the nervousness of walking around in a skimpy suit. I think my favorite memory was being goosed by Boba Fett. That was just wrong on many levels. 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? Emerald Rose "Fire in the Head." It has a strong driving beat that makes you want to move. Although, if I were to dance, Jabba would most likely trade me in for a slave with more rhythm. 7) Any final words? When's the next shoot? There are supposed to be a few more Leia's swelling our ranks. We are Leia. Resistance is futile.... Thanks Sharon! |
