| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. I've been a SW fan as long as I can remember. I don't have a lot of free time, but I manage to seek-out neat pieces for my SW collection. I'm also a bit of a bookworm! 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? I costumed a lot as a little kid. My mother had a wonderful box of scraps of cloth I could use to make outfits for myself and my toys. As an adult (or reasonable facsimile thereof) I only recently returned to costuming. A few of my friends are very involved in it and are very encouraging. I'd like to get involved in more costuming and the ideas are flowing, but the time is not always there. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? My earliest memory of ROTJ was actually not the movie. My brother had the comic book and I remember pouring over it until all the pages were ragged. I think I saw a poor copy of the movie on Beta a couple years later. 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? My first Leia costume was completed for a sci-fi/fantasy convention four years ago on a dare. I enjoyed wearing it so much that I've reattended the con each year and have remade the costume several times since then. 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I love the reactions I get when I wear the outfit. I would have thought that people would make crude comments and catcall, but everyone has been quite respectful. My fondest memories are getting auctioned off for charity - I'm amazed at how much money people will pay for hanging-out with me in costume. I worry that they're disappointed once they meet me and realize that I'm not as exciting as the costume suggests. 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I'm not much of a dancer; Jabba would be greatly disappointed. But if I had to choose, I would pick "I'm too sexy" by Right Said Fred. It's not that I think I'm too sexy, but that the costume makes me feel that way! 7) Any final words? I would encourage anyone who wants to wear this costume to take the plunge.
