| 1) Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and background. My name is Tammy. I am a stay at home mother with 4 great kids. I work as a mod on theJawa.com. I collect figures and "other" Star Wars stuff. 2) How long have you been costuming? What kinds of experiences have you had? This was my first real from scratch costume for myself. I've made costumes for my children such as Boba Fett, Jawa and Tie Fighter. This costume was special because it was made out of real metal (copper rods and copper sheet metal). The people at the Yahoo group SlaveBikiniBuilders were my lifeline through the whole process. 3) What's your earliest memory of seeing Return of the Jedi? I first saw Return of the Jedi while on vacation with my family. I must have seen it 5 times that summer!! 4) When did you get your first "metal bikini" and what drove you to it? I wanted to make this costume really to see if it could be made from metal and not wire and clay like most people use (which are beautiful). 5) What is your favorite memory of appearing as Slave Leia? I enjoyed the costume the most when people asked questions about it's construction. 6) If you danced for Jabba the Hutt, what song would you dance to and why? I'd only dance for Jabba the Hutt if I got to kill him in the end like Leia! 7) Any final words? This costume, for anyone who makes it, is a labor of love. I hope to continue to make more Star Wars costumes in the future. Thanks Tammy! |
